Baileygate Court on Northgate in the heart of Pontefract has 44 one-bedroom and six two-bedroom purpose-built apartments. 

All our apartments have been designed with the over 60s in mind, having been modernised throughout to create a relaxing and comfortable environment. 

Each home is self-contained with a well-appointed kitchen, bathroom, bedroom and living room. All properties have district heating. There are communal gardens around the scheme. 

Conveniently located close to Pontefract town centre, Baileygate Court is just a walk or short bus ride from supermarkets, local shops, pubs, clubs, churches, hairdressers, a fish and chip shop, chemists, butcher and a variety of sandwich shops. 

WDH's Care Link emergency contact system is wired into each home ensuring access to assistance 24 hours a day. 

All apartments are linked to a fire alarm which is tested regularly. 

Local amenities 

Full shopping and leisure facilities, churches and doctors’ surgery are located in Pontefract town centre, which is a short bus ride from the bus stop outside Baileygate Court or from Pontefract Bus Station, which is approximately a five-minute, uphill walk away. 

Activities 

Across all our schemes we like to help create a strong sense of community, and we do this by supporting like-minded people to establish a programme of regular activities.  

Some of our schemes enjoy bingo, attend coffee mornings, or take part in other social activities. 

Accessibility 

Baileygate Court has been designed to accommodate a wide range of people’s needs. As well as handrails and braille signage throughout, it also has a lift and disabled access. 

Support 

At Baileygate Court support is available when you need it. With an experienced Community Support Worker and our Care Link system installed in every home as standard, residents can live with the peace of mind that in the event of an emergency, support can be summoned immediately. Residents will receive the same service 24 hours a day, seven days a week, all year round from WDH. Residents can also tailor the support they receive to suit them, just speak to your Community Support Worker about what suits you and your lifestyle.
